Follow Us on Twitter

Interstate-8 can now be found on Twitter. I'm not entirely sure on how we can effectively use this feature, but I figure I can use it to post minor updates, rumours and give thanks to everyone that submits anything. Maybe it will also become a quicker way to get a reply out of me than email...

Heath Ledger video to surface?

Remember back in April 2007 Isaac mentioned in an interview that Heath Ledger wanted to make a music video for King Rat with the help of Terry Gilliam?

Well a lot of things have happened since then. Primarily the sad passing of Heath Ledger in January 2008 and secondly, no word from the band if it was even happening.

Last week Pitchfork ran an article recapping the story and stating that "The status of the "King Rat" video is currently unknown."

Spin ran a similar article the following day however, stating that "No specific date has been set for the release, which is expected to happen soon."

I didn't put much stock into this at first, figuring that the one was merely misquoting the other. But as of this morning is now linking to the Spin article... does this mean there's a chance that the video will surface?

In other news, the early August release date for the new EP now appears to be August 4.

Four 7" Singles and One EP

Modest Mouse will be releasing their new 8-song EP No One?s First and You?re Next in early August. In the months leading up to that they will be releasing four 7" Singles.

The first one will be released on orange vinyl and contain Satellite Skin and Guilty Cocker Spaniel as its A and B sides respectivly.

The 7"'s look to be exclusive to independant record stores, similar to how the King Rat 7" was put out, with the first one starting to appear on shelves around April 18.

Thanks to Mike for this Info.

New Video in the Works

A bit of news that seems to have flown under the radar... Modest Mouse has been working on a new music video since January with director Kevin Willis. Willis's resume includes work with Tool and some of his art has been used by Jeremiah Green's side project Vells. No word yet on what song the video is for, but some photos can be found on 3D artist Meats Meier's website (Just scroll down the page).
