Modest Mouse has to cancel Brazilian show

Modest Mouse was meant to take the stage today at the SWU Music and Arts Festival in Brazil. Unfortunately the festival organizers have informed us, that due to a "logistical" problem, the band will be unable to do so.

Galera: lamentamos informar que, em nota oficial enviada por sua produção, a banda Modest Mouse anuncia o cancelamento do show por problemas de logística.

From what we've heard earlier, it is believed the band's equipment has been misplaced during their flight to Brazil. This would have marked Modest Mouse's first performance in that country.

UPDATE: Isaac talks about the show's cancellation in this video.

Isaac Brock appearing on Portlandia

Portlandia is a television series on the Independent Film Channel (IFC), set and filmed in Portland, Oregon. It features Saturday Night Live cast member Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, of the now-defunct band Sleater-Kinney and current lead guitarist/singer for Wild Flag.

The IFC announced today that season 2 will begin airing on January 6, 2012, and that it will feature Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock, as well as other guest stars Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Steve Jones from Sex Pistols, Johnny Marr of The Smiths (and formerly of Modest Mouse), Joanna Newsom, and Annie Clark (a.k.a. St. Vincent). All these musicians will be taking up temporary residence in the show's satirical and dreamy rendering of Portland, OR.

Watch the new video for Mister Heavenly's Bronx Sniper

Joe Plumer's side project, Mister Heavenly, has a video out for Bronx Sniper, a track off their recently released album, Out Of Love.

The video was directed by Corey Adams and Alex Craig, features quite a bit of mayhem, and is worth the watch.

Mister Heavenly has also updated their tour schedule. See them live at one of the dates below.

Board admin, MajinTrunx, also points out that these dates conflict with the upcoming Modest Mouse dates in Texas and Brazil. Meaning that Joe most likely not be performing on those dates, and that drum duties will be performed soley by Jeremiah, unless Modest Mouse get someone in to temporarily replace Joe.
